We recently hosted a showcase for the latest cohort of Amplify Venture, and it was incredible to see how far these founders have come in just six months! Developed alongside @weareonetech and @foundervine, Amplify Venture supports a select group of fast-growing London innovators. Highlights from the afternoon: - Eye2Gene: Revolutionising genetic eye disease diagnosis by slashing the diagnostic timeline from years to months. A spinout already securing major grants and investment. - LendoCare: Making medical equipment as easy to rent as an Amazon delivery. A purpose-driven team tackling the needs of an aging population. - Period Harmony: A retail powerhouse in Boots and Walmart. Their topical solution addresses a pain point for 80% of women, boasting a 75% repeat purchase rate. - iCook: Moving beyond calorie counting to a comprehensive solution for health and longevity. With 250k downloads, they are building serious momentum. - Naxxar: Creating a data platform for global supply chains, helping brands like Tommy Hilfiger track GPS and carbon emissions in real-time. - ComplyLens: Challenging the GRC status quo with a risk assessment platform covering a growing number of industry-specific needs. - Ascendia: Helping globally mobile talent navigate the UK job market through career pathway mapping and positioning support. - Date Sultan: A social enterprise that has sold millions of dates while actively fighting modern slavery in the supply chain. A huge thank you to @zoepeden from @Ananda_Ventures for her keynote. Her journey from Stockport to tech founder and VC was a masterclass in resilience, and as she put it, "Diversity isn’t just a checkbox – it’s about value creation." And special thanks to @MayorofLondon for the ongoing support of London's startup ecosystem.

We could not be more proud of the Phase II finalists that pitched at the Cancer Tech Accelerator Conference! Hosted at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering, the energy in the room was a testament to innovation. Each of these teams has developed groundbreaking technology with the potential to transform the lives of cancer patients: -  Biop-CE: A new approach to treating brain tumours through precision-targeted drug release. - CoED Biosciences: Unlocking the mass market for cell therapies with safe, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. - Precision Microbubbles: Improving blood-brain barrier penetration to deliver the next generation of brain therapeutics. - Serpenta: Transforming endoluminal surgery through fluid-actuated robotics. - Neurolase: Revolutionising the safety and precision of neurosurgery by merging laser tools with real-time AI. Selected from a competitive cohort of 20 teams in Phase I, each finalist has received funding to continue validating their technology and moving from "bench to bedside." A massive thank you to our partners @CR_UK and @CR_Horizons for their tireless support of innovation! Special thanks to our supporters: @bloodcancer_uk @BrainTumourOrg @HGF_IP @DebiopharmNews

@capenterprise Nailed it. The 'buts' are always about execution, network, and financial acumen. Founders must demonstrate not just vision, but the tangible ability to deliver on all fronts. That's the real pitch.

Investors don't fund ideas. They fund founders. And the feedback is always the same: "Great concept, but..." ...but your network isn't strong enough to close customers or partners. ...but your forecasting shows you haven't thought through unit economics or market sizing. ...but your go-to-market strategy is wishful thinking, not a plan. ...but you're betting on building the right product and you're not a technical founder. We've launched a collaboration with Hukm Launch Pad to fix exactly this. In 12 weeks, we eliminate the reasons investors pass on good founders: Network — Direct access to our investor network and mentors who've raised capital before. You don't network your way to funding alone anymore. Forecasting — You'll have financial projections and market analysis that actually withstand investor scrutiny. Not guesses. Go-to-Market — A real GTM strategy built on customer conversations, not assumptions. Investors can see you've validated demand. Technology — An embedded dev team that builds your MVP while you focus on customers and fundraising. No more founder-as-solo-coder. Your product is investor-ready. You come in as a founder with an idea. You leave as the kind of founder investors actually fund. We're taking applications for our first cohort, launching early 2026. If you're ready to close the gap between your idea and investor readiness, let's talk 👇 hukmlaunchpad.com/capital-enterp…

🚴 What does building a startup at speed actually look like? We recently announced a new partnership with Hukm Launch Pad, designed specifically to give founders access to the technical team, mentorship, and networks they need to go from ideation to investor ready in just 12 weeks. Many founders spend years refining their ideas, building an MVP and talking to potential customers before they’re ready to launch. We’ll help you do that in a compressed timeframe, meaning you’ll launch faster and gain a competitive advantage. Here’s what 12 weeks on our Launch Pad programme look like: - First 3 Weeks: Uncover market needs, refine ideas and build strong foundations - Weeks 4-6: Validate your idea, sharpen your value proposition, start putting workflows in place - Weeks 7-9: It’s all about building your MVP and thinking like a product manager - Weeks 10-12: Go to market strategy and prepare to raise investment Applications are open for the first cohort, with a projected start date early next year. If you’re looking to get your idea off the ground fast, this could be right for you. Learn more and book in a call today 👇 hukmlaunchpad.com/capital-enterp…

Scaling a startup can be a lonely journey – which is why building community is so critical to the ecosystem. We wrapped up our 2025 Amplify Venture calendar with a relaxed meetup in West London. No speakers or slides, just more than a dozen founders from the September boot camp catching up, sharing progress, and bouncing ideas off each other. It's a great reminder that an unstructured setting can be even more conducive to growth. Lots of valuable ideas were shared and we hope to see the fruits of this next year! We're recharging for January. See you in the New Year!

We recently joined @Twinpathvc and @eagle_labs for an AI Breakfast in Cambridge. It was great to meet and chat with a new wave of founders building companies where AI intersects with biotech, security and industry, and hear about what’s animating the Cambridge ecosystem these days. As one vertex of the Golden Triangle, Cambridge has a reputation as a leading hub for biotech and life sciences. What we heard, despite these well-known strengths, wasn’t so dissimilar to what founders tell us when we meet them up and down the rest of the country. Just a few of the top themes included: - Small investor community - Wrangles with tech transfer offices - Concerns around affordability [maybe this is a Cambridge thing after all] - Should we move to London? - Should we move to San Francisco? Even as Cambridge rightly remains a magnet for investment and talent, the trials of being a startup founder are much the same everywhere. No matter where they are based, founders still need the network, peer support and mentorship to navigate these challenges.

We recently hosted a panel discussion in partnership with @eagle_labs on what founders should look out for as they approach fundraising. The event was part of our Funding Readiness programme and took place at the incredible Barclays Innovation Hub powered by Eagle Labs in Shoreditch. It brought together a select group of investors with members of our cohort for a lively discussion. So, what were the key takeaways for founders embarking on a fundraise? - Building long-term relationships: many investors have the luxury of taking their time when it comes to making investment decisions. It is crucial to start developing these relationships well before your funding needs are acute. - Investor alignment: do they genuinely understand and believe in your mission? Taking investment from a misaligned investor can lead to serious friction down the line. Don’t let your desire to close the round push you into taking an investor who doesn’t share your goals. - Reputation and track record: everyone feels pressure to portray themselves and their venture in the best possible light. Think about how it may land for investors if they were to discover that reality doesn’t match the hype. - Exit strategy: what are the investor’s expectations for making a return, particularly when it comes to timeline? Thanks to our panellists Freya Wordsworth, Estia Ryan, Antonio Baccari, Andrew Lennie and host Joel Calvin, as well as to everyone who came along for the great discussion and networking!

Investors might be sleeping on an opportunity as big as AI 🤯 The lion’s share of VC and angel investment is going to AI startups right now, but what if there were another frontier technology on the horizon that could upend the investment landscape? That’s what we look at in our new report, Hype to Hardware. It’s a deep dive into the current state of quantum startups in the UK 🇬🇧, based on exclusive interviews with more than a dozen founders and ecosystem experts. The potential for quantum is huge. Driven by fundamental breakthroughs in physics research, the possibilities for quantum computing, imaging, and autonomous navigation are about to get a lot more interesting. In some ways, the position of quantum today is comparable to where AI was a decade ago. To those in the know, it’s clear this tech will change the world – but lots of investors haven’t woken up to this opportunity yet. Speaking to founders and experts, we uncovered three key blockers preventing quantum startups from scaling in the UK: Supply Chains: Lack of domestic manufacturing capacity forces early-stage companies overseas. Talent: A critical disconnect between bleeding-edge academia and industry needs. Funding: Overly restrictive public grants and a lack of risk capital. 👉 Download the complete report now and see the data for yourself. We'll put the link in the replies. A huge thank you to all the founders and experts who spoke to us!
