🚨 Important Update on $CPTINU V2 Launch 🚨 Hey everyone, As you know, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to launch @captaininusaga V2. It’s been a challenging road, and while we were finally ready to launch, things took an unexpected and devastating turn this week. Before stating what happened I start with a brief overview of my absence and why the project wasn’t pushed out earlier. 💔 Personal Challenges I had struggles focussing on the project because over the past years, my personal life has been a whirlwind. I lost my dad, have been caring full-time for my mom who’s battling metastasized cancer, and my relationship ended, forcing me to find a new home. On top of all this, my own health completely collapsed last March. I could barely walk, severe fatigue/brain fog and my vision was severely impaired. I underwent extensive medical testing, including multiple blood checks and a brain scan, and it seems I’ve been suffering from a severe burnout that has taken a significant toll on my brain. It’s been an incredibly scary and exhausting journey to recover as you can imagine. Despite everything, the vision for $CPTINU kept going. And I want to give a massive shoutout to Telos, who held the ship steady by continuing development while I focused on my health and worked behind the scenes on some project stuff. I hope that has given some clearance on why it took so long to do a V2 launch. So now what happened with the launch that was planned for this week? 🔓 The Hack On January 17th at 5 PM, tragedy struck. A hacker accessed my personal wallets, including the Captain Inu deployer wallet, and drained everything. This attack was highly sophisticated. A malicious plugin/extension I downloaded allowed the hacker to seemingly record my screen, capturing passwords and even accessing credit card details. By gaining this access, the hacker started dumping all $CPTINU Uniswap tokens and sold all $CPTINU tokens from wallets that we had purchased with at launch. Additionally, the hacker transferred the TrustSwap ownership of the Captain Inu deployer wallet to themselves. This means the remaining 6.9 ETH in the LP is from TrustSwap, which is now unlocked and in possession of the hacker. All funds taken by the hacker went to this address: 🔗etherscan.io/address/0xaa35… We initially hoped this was an exchange address, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be. If anyone has on-chain research skills to help us trace this, please reach out. Any assistance could make a difference. 🙏 🚨 What Does This Mean for $CPTINU? To ensure trading could continue seamlessly while we prepared for V2, we kept the liquidity pool live. The idea was to allow holders to keep trading until last month when the snapshot got taken. The crazy part is, we were gonna take it out this week as i just managed to finish the new eth contract with the dev. Unfortunately, by gaining control of the deployer wallet, the hacker was able to unlock and steal all $102K-30 ETH in liquidity. This means that all funds meant for the V2 launch are gone, and I’ve also lost my personal funds. It’s absolutely devastating. We’ve poured so much into this project, and it’s heartbreaking to see this happen just days before launch. Thankfully, we had already taken a snapshot of token holders before the hack. This means we can proceed by updating the hacked wallet address, ensuring that all holders are covered for V2. However, funding the liquidity pool remains our biggest challenge. We estimate we need at least $50K -15 ETH to rebuild 50% of the LP and launch V2 in a rightful manner. Right now, we simply don’t have the resources. Also a big majority of the Captain Inu funding was lost in the Luna stablecoin staking fiasco 😔 💡 How You Can Help Out of hope, I’m reaching out to anyone who believes in the vision of Captain Inu and is willing to support us during this tough time. If you want to help or contribute to the LP please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via DM. We hope you are still with us and can help us confront this. Show that even in the face of adversity, we can rebuild stronger together. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. 🙏
