Is it actually time to go long on this for a swing?
U.S. Army wants to manufacture meatless proteins in combat zones.
Let's get this clear, this is not fresh news or even new news for that matter. Back in 2025, the U.S. Army has already indicated plans to introduce vegan MREs by 2027.
However, they're starting to roll out their plans in motion.
An Army notice: Sources Sought / market-research notice titled “Alternative Protein Technologies for Military Field Feeding.” This was listed in HigherGov on April 16th and it is due on May 15th.
But keep in mind that this is not not a product launch deadline. It's just the Army requesting for companies for information and whoever is interested needs to submit the capabilities by 15th May.
This of course puts $BYND on the radar because EVERYONE knows this company is about the vegan life, the fake meat, the plant-based diet.
Plus, we also have earnings coming up on the 5th of May so it could be a nice earnings run up?
Let's talk about the chart now;

Near term move to $1.20 seems reasonable but that earnings on 5th May is going to be the big event for bigger moves, depending on their numbers.

I don't usually share all my trade setups here but this was a nice back-pocket play off the $AKAN volume rotation flush off.
Key explanation here with the chart attached below for reference;
This had a catalyst this morning;
"Auddia Expands AI Infrastructure Moat with 14th Patent Supporting Distributed Edge Data Center Deployments."
After the initial news pop move driven by algos, I needed to see a pullback into a key level re-test and a strong candle forming.
That particular candle (white circled) was the key indication I need, that's a beautiful hammer candle which suggest that buyers are particular defending a key level here.
Because of that, I alerted entries there at $5.5s and told the team to aim for a VWAP reclaim, around $5.80 level (white line) for a potential 7am EST push.
Why 7am EST? More brokers opens up, more volume flows into the market.
Safe to say this was an absolutely delightful trade and it was well communicated and guided.
$5.50s -> $8.74 highs, that's a cool 58% trade in minutes! 💰
Right now, price needs to clear the daily volume imbalance above $8.55 for another move if not this will be topped out here for now.

Keep in mind that this is now knifing so I would WAIT till market open for consolidation around the pivot area before taking entries here. If not, we avoid and look for something else.
