@DeputyGrocott I think at age 13 safety comes before anything so checking texts if concerned is reasonable as a parent/guardian. My two are older now and did take responsibility for phones in bedrooms themselves e.g school /college/jobthe next day so set phone alarm & get some sleep.

Those of you with 13 year olds…phone rules…do you make sure the phone is out of the bedroom at night? Do you check all texts?

@abbyaug Some elderly men prefer a female carer as they can feel a bit proud and embarrassed if it’s a man. Slightly different but my point is care companies say they are all for ‘respecting clients wishes’ in their policies etc to the care inspectorate/ families etc.
