If you're not using your legs properly to use the ground for leverage, you won't be able to play baseball in college. If you're a high school player who thinks that just getting bigger will increase your exit velo, you're wrong. You need to train using your legs during your load to create tension and direction, and then transfer that force back to the ball. If you're just putting in countless hours in the cage without using your legs or lifting a ton of weights, without addressing the main issue behind your lack of power, you will be wasting your time. Comment VELO, and I'll send you a hitting routine that helped increase my exit velocity during my 13 years of professional baseball.

Excited for the season ahead! I’ll be behind the plate catching for my team this year. In our last two scrimmages, I went 4-6 at the plate with a home run. We unfortunately don’t provide video during our games but I’m looking forward to getting started with our first actual games next week!

Four different hitting drills that can improve your swing during your high school season: Lower half: Focus on quality, over quantity, work behind your front hip to stay behind the ball. Load: Let your backside lead your movement forward. Do it slow and under control Swing path: I love a flat bat to ensure my hands and bat angle are right at contact, and @trainingbats are the best rn. Exit velocity: To increase your exit velocity, training how to move fast and explosively is key. @aeroswingspeed is the best bat for that r.

More separation doesn't mean higher exit velocity.

Silas has a short, explosive swing and, over the last year, has shown he can also hit for power. His primary position is behind the plate, with a 2.0 pop-up time, and he brings leadership to any team he plays for. He also provides flexibility to the lineup by playing second and third base.  @SilasAulick

Your swing path is one of the most important parts of your swing. If you enter the strike zone late, leave it early, or both, you won't be able to compete at the next level. Your swing is not the problem. Start by controlling your posture, and the swing will take care of itself.

If you're a high school baseball player and you really want to play in college, you can't be afraid to ask!  It's important to recognize that coaches may have different relationships with players, so it’s your responsibility to identify which coach you connect with best and ask them the questions you have. Here’s a short list of questions I would suggest asking your favorite coach if I were in high school: 1. What is your coaching approach? 2. What mindset do you believe is essential for success? 3. How do you handle different game situations? 4. What college opportunities should I consider? 5. What routines do you recommend for on and off the field? Comment "ASK," and I can send you a list of the questions I personally asked my coaches during my professional baseball career, completely free!

High School Swing Breakdown: 3 moves that create easy power. After 13 years playing pro and the last 5 years coaching high school hitters, this is the pattern I see over and over: most players chase power by trying to swing harder… and they actually get slower and make worse contact. If you want power that shows up in games, focus on these 3 moves: 1) Create separation (load into the back side and keep the front side closed)   2) Turn from the ground up(hips start it, hands follow)   3) Let the barrel out race your body (Your bat should be faster than your body at contact) Comment "SWING” if you want me to break yours down next.

4 drills that will help you be a more consistent hitter this season 🫵🏽 1. Happy Gilmore drill: Great to help you load your body while you're moving forward, and land into a strong and athletic launch position. 2. Back foot elevate drill: This drill will help you train your lower half by improving your front side to stop lunging or pushing off the ground. 3. Heavy balls: I love to use heavy balls to brace at contact, improve my barrel acuracy and work through the ball. 4. Choke-up drill: This drill is often overlooked by a lot of hitters because of how simple it is. But basically force you to let the ball travel, clean your swing path since the bat is so much shorter, and improve your swing path through the ball. Comment College if you're a high school player tired of being overlooked by coaches and want to play in college.

Four hitting drills that you will need during this high school season  1. Connection ball in the back shoulder: This drill can help you shorten and compact your swing, improving the quickness of your swing and giving you more time to wait for the ball before deciding whether to swing at it or not. 2. Back leg swings: This drill can help you keep your hips close and boost your bat speed by cleaning your swing sequence.  3. Step back drill: This drill can help you to use your backside to lead your load on your movement forward, improving the control of your load before you swing.  4. Feet across:  This drill can help you to control your movement forward by using your back glute and improving your separation before you land into your launch position.  Comment "COLLEGE" if you want to increase your exit velocity by 5 mph or more and improve your swing in games.

What's the main difference between an average hitter and an elite hitter in high school? Average Hitter: 1. He doesn't have a routine 2. He only depends on his high school coach to tell him what to work on. 3. He thinks high school baseball is enough to help him play at the next level. Elite Hitter  1. He has structure 2. He follows a daily plan 3. He works on his personal development all year round. Follow @cargabaseball , the only page for elite baseball players

Your body is made to move different parts at the same time and in different directions. If you don’t practice moving these parts separately, it will be harder for you to hit well when you play at a higher level.
