Sorry, but non of this makes sense… If (and it’s a big IF) the starting point of both sides is to genuinely stop these not-so-small boat crossings, there is a simple way… Instead of Border Force collecting these people mid point & bringing them to UK - strike an agreement to instead take them back to France. Each & every time. If zero people were brought here, the crossings would literally stop overnight… Thus problem solved. Why, IF, the ambition genuinely is to stop them, doesn’t this happen? 🤔

‘It is controversial.’ GB News’ Home and Security Mark White gives an update on the new migrant deal that has been struck with the French, which Labour has pledged £600 million towards.

@Ash_Singh84 @FA_PGMOL Yeah cos there are no mistakes with var....😱 The debate moved on from how many mistakes some time ago mate, it's about how var changes the game. Some of us think it changes football beyond palatable recognition.

People calling for VAR to be scrapped, like @TheAdrianDurham, I hope they’re watching the Villa Newcastle game. Officials have been awful. Abraham is offside for the goal, Digne should have seen a red and Newcastle should’ve had a pen. Incompetent @FA_PGMOL #AVLNEW

Government bleeds small businesses to death, for what? To accommodate Somalian and Eritrean conmen? To fund the indolent who refuse to work? To send millions in foreign aid to Pakistan and wherever else? To put up lazy foreigners in British social housing? NO THANK YOU.

I read these vast numbers of foreign nationals occupying British social housing with real anger. It's just not our problem. If they can't support themselves financially? They should go home, or be sent home. Those houses are for British families, not foreigners.

There comes a point when a country has to say: enough. Not as theatre. Not as rhetoric. As a statement of fact. Britain has reached it. For nearly a month, Britain's border held – not because the state asserted control, but because the weather did. Rough seas stopped what ministers would not. That was the deterrent. When the water calmed, the fiction collapsed. Within hours, the boats arrived: hundreds in nine launches. No enforcement. No resistance. Just calm seas. A border that relies on the weather is not a border. It is an illusion. This is no longer an immigration debate. It is a test of whether the British state still performs the first duty of government: control of territory. When a Prime Minister admits that there is "no effective deterrent," that is not honesty. It is capitulation in bureaucratic language. Keir Starmer has told the country, plainly, that Britain will not stop illegal entry – even though it could. Because this is the truth ministers work to conceal: this is not failure. It is policy. A government acting on the side of its own people could halt these crossings almost overnight. Safe third-country returns. Offshore processing. Immediate detention and removal. Maritime turn-backs. Every lever exists. None are pulled. What we are witnessing is demographic engineering by neglect: mass entry tolerated, normalised, and absorbed while the public is told control is impossible and resistance immoral. Neither claim is true. What follows is ritualised evasion. Numbers are softened. Language laundered. Responsibility spread until no one is accountable. Border Force becomes a ferry service. France a reluctant gatekeeper. The public is told it's "complex." It isn't. Complexity is the refuge of a government that refuses to govern. The damage is no longer abstract. It is cumulative and visible. Housing systems buckle as hotels are requisitioned and local families pushed further down waiting lists. Schools, GP surgeries, councils, and police forces absorb sudden population shocks they were never built to carry. A system designed for thousands is being crushed by tens of thousands, year after year. This is not compassion. It is misrule. Public safety is treated as an awkward footnote. Yet the demographic reality is obvious. The vast majority of arrivals are young men – the group most likely to commit violence. Importing that cohort at scale, outside any lawful or controlled process, is not mercy. It is reckless governance dressed as virtue. Women pay the price first. The state knows the risk profile. It knows the crime data it refuses to publish. It knows the cases it dismisses as "isolated" keep repeating. A government that continues regardless, while scolding those who notice patterns, has crossed a moral line. Protecting women is not optional. It is not a trade-off. It is a duty. The cultural cost is harder to count but easier to feel. A country cannot sustain trust while teaching its people that borders are meaningless, laws are optional, and silence is the price of social peace. Communities are told to absorb change without consent, without limits, and without protest. That is not cohesion. It is managed resentment. The irony is that the press now says what the government will not. The Telegraph prints the figures. Journalists name the crimes. Analysts trace the networks. The state, meanwhile, hides behind weather charts and pilot schemes that return a handful while admitting thousands. This cannot continue. A country that cannot control who enters its territory, cannot enforce its own laws, cannot protect its women, and cannot speak plainly to its people is not progressive. It is unstable. Every calm day exposes the lie. Every surge confirms the truth. The crossings are not inevitable. They are the result of deliberate policy and refusal to govern. Britain does not lack compassion. It lacks a government willing to put the nation first. "Within hours, the boats arrived: hundreds in nine launches."
