Ariel Anderson, a 5th grader at @McGeesElem, was recognized at our October BOE meeting for demonstrating Perseverance. She puts forth effort in all tasks and encourages others to do the same, and always has an extremely positive attitude. Join us in congratulating Ariel!

February, is the month with the highest number of behavior referrals, but let's focus on what's RIGHT with our students. Try to come up with 3 positive (different) things several days in a row. What we think and say about a student greatly impacts how we feel and treat them.

Anxiety is sometimes easy to see, like when a child is nervous about a test. Other times it can look like hyperactivity or an upset stomach. Calming phrases bring a sense of security, while also making space for them to share how they are feeling.

I had a teacher, Dr. Robert Hirsch, tell me I was going to do big things when I was constantly in trouble in 8th grade. I decided to believe him and try. Statements like this matter. Teach hard. Love harder. #TEACHers #teachertwitter #dreambig
