I find it very disappointing that Fernando Mendoza is going to be the first overall pick this year. While Indiana did go undefeated, I still personally don’t feel like their title is legitimate due to their schedule and the transfer portal being unfair. Real sports media reporting value, which used to exist and now mostly doesn’t, is news that would otherwise not exist but for a reporter’s hard work. That’s very valuable & almost nonexistent. All trade & contract news will be announced by teams soon after the “news” breaks.

There should be a deeper conversation about sports media reporting — “scoops” that would become news no matter what — trades & contract news for instance — isn’t actually that important or even really reporting. It’s just access trading.
