Site Audit Pop Quiz: Is this rip-rap slumping, or is the ground actively sinking? 🌧️📉 Hey crew, found this site consult yesterday. It looks like a couple of stones slumping. The un-trained contractor says "add more rip-rap." They are wrong. Dead wrong. Look closely at that close-up. Notice how the grass is "dipping" by that old charred header? That is not slumping stone. That is a Void Formation underneath the subgrade. What is actually occurring here? Why is the dirt disappearing around the pipe instead of staying in the pipe? 👇 I want your best geological analysis.
