literally every enemy in this game depends on OUR skill to determine if they can be beaten. its such a bad metric of judging how strong a character is. Does this mean since Kris can beat spamton in a 1v1 but needs 3 party members for Berdly then Berdly is stronger than Spamton

i feel like this entire "berdly is the strongest lightner because it takes three party members to beat him!" take is very disingenuous because like literally every enemy is like this because we... have 3 party members

@RhockoHarrison This was unironically when I realized what chapter 5 is and how 6 is gonna be. Like damn how serious is chapter 6 Toby’s not even letting starwalker in, the fun adventures are over

To me this is like the end of a common route. 5 eggs, 5 crystals, the weird route becomes irreversible, etc. It's goofy, but there's obvious melancholy and a sense of transience. The heroes don't feel like heroes, no one is really on the same page, and the victory is hollow.

@zoeyzenith conversely it's also nice when i can figure out things they actually like to do, like pushing 30 statues to the great depths below

kris being particularly sassy at the start of chapter 5 enthused me so much it's such a distinct opening. only three full days with the soul and they're sick of humoring it even a little it's the closest the narration has come to it being them talking back directly
