I mean this with love but you cannot read like this. It is disappointing when an author whose work you like turns out to be a bum, but that shouldn’t make you quit reading.

honestly i'm this close to quitting reading for good. every single author i actually love turns out to be problematic or worse. i'm so tired of finding out after i already got attached. feels like i can't enjoy anything anymore without a background check first

what i find funny ab booktwt is this inability to criticize something/someone you enjoy. like hellooo, a popular author w a huge fanbase isn’t free from criticism just bc their work is widely lauded. in fact, criticizing your favs helps you AND the author learn and improve 😭
