COLLEGE SWIMMING RANT: I still think a huge missed revenue opportunity for college swim teams is just selling quality team caps and "better" team gear for alumni and fans. Baseball has jerseys, football has jerseys, basketball has jerseys and while selling a few hundred caps per year isn't going to make a program $1,000,000 annually, it's a step in the right direction toward looking at programs as a business that needs to be feverishly trying to become an asset and not a liability. I've talked to a large handful of alumni from various programs over the years about this and a lot of them aren't quite in the "pure donation" phase of their careers or lives but would 100% be willing to buy AT LEAST a new team cap each year.
