@punctuation The version of libmysql.dll is 12/18/2018 (Dec 18 2018), and it is the same file in both VMs. The only obviously SSL related file in SysWow64 is libssl-1_1.dll (11/26/2020), and that is also in my Delphi 11.1 VM. There is also a libmysqld.dll (same version) in both VMs.

@caryjensen I am using MySQL and D11.1 together and I am pretty sure I've used FireDAC for at least one project. Let me quickly put together a test project and see if I can make it work for you. I am almost certain it's due to the libmysql and OpenSSL combination and paths.

@bogdanpolak I am certain that there is a Delphi solution to this issue, it's just that I haven't found the right set of configurations (server-side and client-side). Working on it.

@caryjensen Experience on out side (Craneware) is to use C# services (REST or SOAP) as a proxy for Delphi application to accessing Azure and AWS storage. I know that this is far from perfect, but productivity is more important then perfectionism :-)

I second that motion. Danny's book was one of the most refreshing reads about software development. I value my copy, and have repeatedly, over the years, recommended that Delphi developers do whatever they can to obtain their own copy. Of course, it's been out of print for years.

When Delphi was released there were three sku's. There was Delphi, there was Delphi Client/Server, and there was RAD Pack. Here is a shrink-wrapped copy of Delphi Client/Server from my software collection. I have other copies, but I never opened this one. #Delphi25th

@JohnKaster @NBCNewsBETTER Yes, the Instant Pot ROCKS! Try artichokes. Remove the tops of two artichokes and place, stem up, in the Instant Pot in one cup of water. Steam at high pressure for between 12 and 16 minutes (depending on the size of the artichokes). Let pressure leave slowly and then enjoy.

Bad news. Some close lymfe nodes have metastasis. Need additional liver MRI of liver because of potential metastasis. Prepare with MRI+CT for 5 weeks of radiation therapy followed by surgery and permanent stoma. Extra treatment depending on outcome of liver MRI.
