@caspmel Its nothing to do with non fans ! I think you're misunderstanding. People are upset because at first it was assumed that only tickets of people who arent local to the venue and would have to travel in, but even locals (as in People who live there) are also getting tickets taken

they hold tickets for every show for a box office sale, so they aren’t “reselling” anything. Also if you are a fan with a canceled ticket they said to email them

weird as hell that @ThompsonsPoint @statetheatreME is cancelling tickets for @djotime that real fans bought and calling it a “violation of the rules of sale” to turn around and RESELL THEIR CANCELLED TICKETS AT THE BOX OFFICE THE NEXT DAY? WHAT RULES WERE VIOLATED????

@blueberrykeery I’ve lived here for seven years now and have attended shows the whole time (excluding Covid obviously) and personally have never experienced this. Not to call them wrong but it’s not a widespread common experience

@caspmel i unfortunately am seeing other locals saying this is not new for this venue and they have been slimy in other occasions many times, i’ve never been there so i don’t have a basis of personal experience, but it does sound like this is common unfortunately

@blueberrykeery Also back to box office only they always do that, I usually wait to buy all my tickets at the box office which definitely screwed me over this time I’ll probably miss out. But that just shows they were not expecting demand like this it’s usually pretty casual and chill

@caspmel all of the cancelled tickets would suddenly be available only in person the next day at box office only. they restricted comments on the post before anyone really even started commenting, and they wouldn’t answer any questions about it, which is why people are mad!! now they’re+

@blueberrykeery Which sucks for everyone! It’s just unfortunate to log on and see people who don’t live here and don’t attend shows here call them slimy and start rumors that just aren’t true when they really work hard to bring shows to Maine

@blueberrykeery Oh I agree! I think some people esp those who don’t live here don’t realize how small this company is. We don’t get shows with this much demand that often. It sucks that this is a massive learning experience for them but they did not have bad intent, they’re def overwhelmed

@blueberrykeery Im just irritated because I live here,these are my local venues,and people are shitting on them and saying they’re acting slimy when that simply isn’t true. They tried to stop resellers and unfortunately fans got flagged, which theyre now trying to fix. It sucks but theyre trying
