New Report — Follow the Money: EU (and U.S.) Mainstream Media Are Both Bought and Paid For A recent article titled "How the EU Pays Mainstream Media to Promote Its Narratives" originating from @GatestoneInst and shared by @unfetterdspeech exposes how the EU quietly pays off mainstream media — billions in taxpayer money over the past decade under the banners of “fighting disinformation” and “promoting European values.” The result? Financial dependency, narrative conformity, and the censoring of alternative viewpoints. Shocking, because it shows just how deeply institutionalized narrative control has become. Unfortunately, the same thing happens in the USA. Some examples: > Federal agencies spend billions on advertising and messaging to prop up mainstream media budgets and control narratives. > Washington funds “disinformation” watchdogs (Atlantic Council, Aspen Institute, Stanford projects) that work with Big Tech and mainstream newsrooms to decide what gets amplified or suppressed. > Congress has slipped in direct subsidies too — COVID-era vaccine campaigns are the clearest recent example. Disguised as “pandemic relief,” the money bought compliant coverage while alternative viewpoints were silenced — arguably leading to unnecessary deaths and suffering. Add access journalism, intelligence leaks, and the endless parade of TV “experts” — none of whom are true experts, and nearly all paid to push a narrative. Same outcome as Europe: financial dependency, narrative conformity, and manufactured consent. Bottom line This is why truly independent media is critical and why you need to add them to your daily news consumption. You honestly cannot believe legacy outlets — it’s all funded, steered, or stage-managed.
