Hanson has not told the truth. Hanson says if not careful we may become part of a national agenda. We can’t afford another 4 years of same.
Hanson- get people who are new to Franklin on committees to get them engaged.
Mayor Moore says engaging the community in his current role at local events and asking for citizen input is a way that he pulls people in to allow them to be engaged.
Mayor Moore- Tourism’s place in Franklin is that we have created a wonderful place for tourists and many people visiting Nashville also visit Farnklin.
Hanson says we need a Convention Center to keep from turning away convention business.
Moore says according to a study trails and connectivity was one of the most important issues to the citizens of Franklin. Sidewalks was another area the City has focuses on.
Mayor Moore is for public having options to get to doctors appointments and he is encouraged by the opportunity of having choice lanes, as well as other opportunities
Hanson in regard to the regional transportation discussion says she does not want to burden the public with the cost associated with transportation- she is against it
Hanson says healthy growth is providing housing for most as many people in our community. We also need to watch land use so that we preserve the beautiful green spaces we have.
Mayor Moore cites Unite Williamson as a way he has tried to Unite the community despite our differences. He talked about one event where people exchanged phone numbers at an event in an effort for people to know who their neighbor is.
Asked about the Mayors duty to represent people with different cultural expectations Hanson says the mayor does influence the community and sets the tone.
Mayor Ken Moore says he is running for re-election so that we don’t lose what is special about Franklin. He is against trying to nationalize a local election.
