I remember when my ex ended our relationship over something that felt so small, yet said so much, she wanted an iPhone and a different lifestyle. I pleaded, thinking love could fix what money was now expected to carry, but she walked away without looking back.
A few weeks later, she returned like nothing happened, asking if we could fix things. Foolish me, I said yes. I bought the iPhone, gave more of myself, went into debts, placed her on weekly allowance and tried even harder without realizing I was slowly losing my dignity in the process.
Then came the final break.
It hit me like a shock I wasn’t prepared for. The kind that leaves you empty, questioning your worth, your choices, and your existence. I almost committed suicide, I cry like a baby and question my existence on earth.
But today, I’m here.
Telling the story. Learning from it. Even laughing at how far I’ve come.
