@jamiegoode @CalifWinesUK @CalifWines_US I arrived Napa Valley June 1975, a very different place, just scratching its way back from Prohibition, 2 World Wars and the Great Depression. It was vibrating with energy. There were 30 wineries, many of them new.

It is my belief/observation that wine from everywhere is getting better all the time. Hence our scoring system in which 18/20 is bestowed sparingly and we have ample room to reward even greater improvement (which is tricky for 100/100ers)

@starrski71 @JancisRobinson If you check the ratings on Global Wine Score, the vast majority of wines have seen their highest wine scores coming just over the last decade. Forget 1945, 1961, 1982...in most cases, the highest scores are from 2015-2020. Hmmmm.
