I have had a phenomenal staff and great players come through in my time here which have made this possible. Thanks to everyone who has helped our program get to where it is. Congratulations to Erin McDaniel, Chris Conrade, Carly Stavola and Joanna Bjerum for receiving a Friends of Education award at our May 13 BOE meeting. The group was nominated by Slate Creek principal Tenae Alfaro for their work on the inclusive playground project.

A couple days ago, my dad lost his wife of nearly 50 years and my sister and I lost our mom. We are heartbroken. My dad enlisted in the Marine Corps and later stationed in New Jersey when he met her. Dad said he knew he was going to marry her the moment he saw her. After they wed, they moved back to Kansas and had us girls. My mom was strong, loving, supportive and selfless. I am going to miss hearing from her multiple times per day and how she ended the night with a text saying, “I love you more.” She joins my Uncle Doug and Aunt Wanda, both family members we lost this year.
