Spoke to Becky on BBC Radio Derby this morning about how this Labour Government is backing Derby.
More than 1,000 new Rolls-Royce jobs, £10 million for Team Derby and £20 million for Chaddesden show what that means in practice.
Jobs, investment and pride in our city.

With this Labour Government, Britain has seen inflation come down, six interest rate cuts and borrowing fall.
The PM’s steady leadership means we are better able to protect families, support businesses, work with allies and face global challenges.

Tomorrow is the King’s Speech.
Since the last one, Labour has delivered change to improve lives, from renters’ rights and action on child poverty to safer streets, rail public ownership and Great British Energy.
Much more still to do, but Labour is getting on with the job.

PM is right to focus on getting on with the job. We face a less safe world with global instability adding to cost of living pressures for households. At this serious moment for our country, public service means hard work, stability & delivery, not Westminster turning in on itself

BREAKING The Prime Minister told a meeting of the Cabinet: “As I said yesterday, I take responsibility for these election results and I take responsibility for delivering the change we promised. “The past 48 hours have been destabilising for government and that has a real economic cost for our country and for families. “The Labour Party has a process for challenging a leader and that has not been triggered. “The country expects us to get on with governing. That is what I am doing and what we must do as a Cabinet.” Ends

The Tories gave Britain 5 PMs in 8 years, with working people paying the price for their chaos.
Labour has raised wages, brought rail into public ownership and lifted more children out of poverty.
There’s much more to do. The focus now must be delivery, not distraction.

The Government has signed a major deal backing @RollsRoyceUK SMR.
I asked the Chancellor what this means for Derby, and she highlighted the benefits: good jobs, apprenticeships and more opportunities for local people, alongside stronger energy and economic security for the UK.

More than 5,500 children in Derby were lifted out of poverty this month through changes brought in by this Labour Government.
I raised Tale of Two Cities Project in Parliament because local work to improve life chances will is a big part of building further on that progress.

Brilliant to join Derby Trailblazers’ “Her World, Her Rules” girls takeover with my daughter and see so many girls learning new skills, making friends and having fun being active. Great to see their Sport England-funded work opening up basketball to more girls across Derby.

Derby has a big role in British industry. I raised local manufacturers’ energy costs directly with the Business Secretary. He confirmed support will be targeted at electricity-intensive firms, with more businesses covered and an eligibility checker due this summer.

Visited the City of Derby Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets to see training up close and thank the volunteers behind it. Lots of dedication and teamwork on show.
With £70m investment to expand cadets by 30% by 2030, the government is supporting more young people to get involved.

I was at Downing Street to mark a major new agreement between @RollsRoyceUK SMR & Great British Energy – Nuclear.
A big step forward for a world-class Derby business. #TeamDerby will keep working to secure the jobs and opportunities that can come from it.

Great to catch up with the @RoyalSchoolDD Head, Paul Burrows, and learn more about the new residential block, which will help more children, including from outside Derby, access the school's outstanding care, support and expertise.
