This section of the chapter is discussing how to include diverse young people (including neurodivergent young people) and how tensions can arise around this. The focus is not attainment, but inclusion.

@ipvkyte @dieworkwear No, not really. The buttonhole foot generally just uses a fine zigzag. Functional! But not as pretty as this.

The technique is called Milanese, despite hailing from Paris, because of the name of the Italian brand of thread used. To make this, a tailor will punch a buttonhole by hand and then wrap some silk twist around a gimp. Takes a bit of time to do this bc work is very fine.
