@alexpinku yourself in. Especially with JP being such a difficult language. Collaborative songwriting exists, but someone else is translating your feelings. Their writing/word choice is THEIRS. It's a reflection of how they interpret and translate your words/thoughts. It's just different!

@alexpinku I totally get where you're coming from! I do think that there's a beauty in the idea of something foreign, desperately being attempted in search of human connection. But I'm still in full agreement with you, that your native language will almost always be the most easy to express

To also be clear - I love the Japanese language. I studied it in college, went to a language school in japan and v much enjoy singing in Japanese as I think its very pretty. But! At the end of the day, I'll never be able to express myself the same way as I can English.

I think abt this a lot and unless your active goal is performing in Japan, I dont really understand why you would want your original music to be in Japanese & not your native language. If anything, it makes it hard to connect with your local community & build idol around you?
