I don't really like Byler in a romantic sense, and I thought it would be nice to see them as brothers; in this AU, Will is in love with Lucas instead of Mike.

I think Will would have a very dark sense of humour as a grownup because he'd constantly joke about his Upside Down trauma and initially everyone else would be a bit awkward but eventually they'd join in.
