@airieherlis The thought of loving someone more than mav in that film 😵‍💫 Tom and Val in their scene together is two legends just showing everyone else how its done.

NGL as much as I love the Dagger Squad I will not ever get anyone who came out of TGM and be more obsessed on them than Maverick. Because Maverick sucks everything up honestly, and Tom Cruise still clears everyone else but Val on that set.

Maverick’s problem is that he loves too much, too hard; has trouble letting people go and would rather he himself is hurt than anyone he cares about. And despite it all, he still thinks he's not worthy of being loved in return. His love is more of a curse than his surname.
