✨AI music generation is getting better. Over the last week, I've been playing around with Suno and Udio. It's a lot of fun, and the results are impressive. These apps can create excellent music, and they will keep improving. I don't think they can make good "indie" music - they lack the personality and weirdness of indie musicians. I haven't heard AI create anything as mind-bending as what meant (@meantband) is doing. An AI with a robot arm wouldn't be anywhere as enjoyable to watch as a Caught in Joy (@caughtinjoy) jam session. AI lacks the fun and earworms that Scoopski (@ScoopskiTheBand) or Won't Say Rabbit (@wontsayrabbit) bring to the table. A Vocaloid can't produce anything with the raw punk energy of Brian Lambert (@LambertBrian7) or the authentic emotive indie-pop of hero no hero (@subjangle) I could go on and on. Indie musicians, THANK YOU, and Keep doing what you are doing!
