Orchard is where @Zcash is heading better cryptography (Pallas/Vesta curves, Halo 2 proofs, no trusted setup), and the migration target for the network any product that's serious about @Zcash needs to support both pools. we have both, today.

what this means in practice: Causeway vault can hold and spend shielded ZEC across both shielded pools - Sapling and Orchard same threshold model. same quorum. same @solana audit layer.

For future hackathons, what if we required all participants to stake 1 SOL along with their product submission? If the submission was determined to be in the bottom 50%, your deposit would get slashed. For startups in the top 50%, their deposit would be returned.

We just published causeway-reddsa to crates.io Threshold-Sapling vaults can now refresh operator shares without changing ask - so every user's deposit address survives a rotation 🧵
