Not sold on Carrick. Been really poor despite the results for a few weeks now and luck’s been riding us through. #newmun #mufc

If the British media covered issues affecting different generations equally and fairly, the student loan scandal, which will see young people robbed of many thousands of pounds, would be top of every single news bulletin and on the front of every single newspaper - just like when wealthier pensioners faced losing £200 a year in Winter Fuel Payments. But it doesn’t and so it won’t be.

Couldn’t imagine supporting city, they’re so boring to watch. Stadium always sounds dead, empty seats. 90% of the game passing sideways. Might have won loads but Christ, watching this twice a week 😴

Fucking hell, we haven't celebrated a single goal at Old Trafford on derby day since the 2022/23 season. What sort of sick fucking joke is that. We have been absolutely starved of joy by this bloody team.

Dalot is having quite the 20 minutes. Already on a booking, butchers his final ball to Amad there. He's making some good runs in behind but he needs to improve his accuracy.

@AndyMitten Blame your mate Dalot who you gave a glowing review of in December. He’s shit and we all know he’s shit. Celebrating mediocrity when he should have been moved on years ago.

The latest stinking result at Old Trafford sees MUFC exit the FA Cup at the first hurdle. Same in League Cup. It means MUFC will play only 40 games this season. That's the lowest number in 111 years. Abysmal.

You take the point. Creditable performance given the absences and not the ugly day out many feared it would be. One win in five now, though.

@implausibleblog Sorry, no sympathy. I worked full time while doing my degree and paying a mortgage. There were times when I couldn’t even afford a pint of milk but I kept going. Where is the determination these days, I think the fire in the belly has gone out!!

Sonia Sodha, "The state pension has gone up, but the threshold that young people have to repay their student loans has been frozen" "Graduates in their 20s and 30s pay an extra 9% of income tax" "There are people in their 20s that will never own their own home" "They're going to get to retirement in the private rented sector. It's overpriced, its bad value. They won't have enough money in their pension and all of a sudden they won't have anywhere to live because they haven't bought a house and they haven't paid off their mortgage" "Young people are facing a crisis in terms of the world they're going out into" "My worry is the political parties are tinkering on the edges of this" #BBCQT

@KeanosD @AndyMitten I agree. He did well against farmers in the Portugese league and playing the underdog in the CL with Sporting. He doesn’t have the tactical know-how to coach a team that’s expected to dominate. I think he’s been found out and hopefully on borrowed time.

MUFC lose 1-0 at home to 10-man Everton. Dreadful result. MUFC 69% of possession and 21 shots to Everton's three, but deeply unconvincing. Everton defended well - all of them.

@mjcritchley Mark, we’re Man United not some Championship team. What does he mean, we’re not ready? It’s EVERTON! How low can our self-respect go? He’s completely out of his depth. Unforgivable to say they aren’t ready to step-up against Everton, for God sakes.

@Malachians You're wrong. Watch him for Denmark he's a different player. United fans do the same thing every year and go for easy targets. Zirkzee, Dorgu etc. Meanwhile the "better" players get away with horrible performances so often, hence the consistent bad results

Utd have a problem with Dorgu, if he was at City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc he would already be replaced. The young lad never takes his man on or puts in an early cross, he kills the attack and passes it backwards every time. I don’t want to pile on the kid, he was by no means alone tonight but you can’t play at that level in the PL.

Usually when a player slaps a teammate, the other team wins. Man United contrived to play 80mins against ten men + lose. Chances from crosses late on, but toiled for large parts. Only three subs used. A damaging defeat. Briefing ⬇️ #MUFC nytimes.com/athletic/68311…
