On Monday, I introduced a counting routine to a class of 2nd graders. Today, one of those sweet students surprised me by showing she wanted to keep counting up to 10,000! You never know what will inspire a student. #countingroutines #Andrews2ndgraderocks

Children need to be given TIME and VARIED OPPORTUNITIES to count. Rather than asking a child to count to a certain number, ask them “How many ____”.
#Countingcollections is a great activity that gets kids to count and build on their understanding! #elemmathchat #counting
