Why passed so quickly in committee? Four of the bill's sponsors are members of that committee, including the Vice Chair, and bill furthers business interests of people in a sponsor's district. Easier to get such things through committee; House and esp. Senate, less so.

Re HR7661, the book ban bill, we'll post here as soon as we have definitive info whether/when the House will calendar it for a vote. My assessment still stands – the chances of its passing Senate are remote & it's quite vulnerable to a court challenge, but we're tracking it!
