@JohaPrime @fermatslibrary You can test all the possibilities. Start with 1 digit prime, then test all the ten digits added on the left to see if its prime, then add another digit on the left and so on. That’s a tree and the longest branch is this number.

This is the largest left-truncatable prime: you always get a prime regardless of how many leading digits are omitted.

OpenAI just published a great article on scaling Postgres. The right combination of proxies, read-replicas, and sharding can take you to millions of QPS.

I just don’t get what’s got everyone excited about OpenAI’s “scaling” blog.
It’s essentially “we froze the schema, threw dozens of read replicas at it, and pray the single primary doesn’t fall over.” They’re treating their database as immutable infrastructure. They’ve traded operational flexibility for read throughput—probably works for read-heavy ChatGPT metadata, but it’s not a generalizable scaling pattern
