@IcelandOW And what's the point of having a wild card tournament if the qualification to partake in that is simply an extension of the qualification for the main tournament. "Based on player population data 🤡"

@IcelandOW Once again Blizzard uses a qualification system with a heavy bias for higher population countries. On top of that this time grouped by region resulting in additional bias for less competitive regions who receive as many slots as the more competitive regions.

We must sadly announce that Iceland did not receive an invitation to the Wild Card qualifier for OWWC 2023. Despite our dedicated community and small yet talented pool of players we will not have an opportunity to prove ourselves on the world stage this time. Until next time.

@wizoow @Blizzard_Ent @PlayOverwatch The World Cup qualification system has a very clear bias towards high population countries. It doesn't matter how good your best 6 are as long as the other 144 don't have high MMR.

So Portugal will probably miss world cup groupstage and Italy will qualify. Not fair. Portugal is 1000x better than Italy and the results are proving it. Need a better format for next year! @Blizzard_Ent @PlayOverwatch

@Hafficool The bias for high population countries is even larger than 2017 WC. This time it's SR from top 150 players instead of top 100.
