Have you tried “which one doesn’t belong?” if not it’s a great way to build student conversations, math reasoning, and vocabulary. Here’s today’s slide from meaningfulmathmoments.com

Flexible regrouping to help Ss find partial quotients. They start with expanded form and then shift a ten until they reach numbers that they can work with. It been a game changer for my Ss @gregtangmath @mburnsmath

For the last 4 weeks I’ve worked with Ts to unpack #sor. We’ve looked at the research, policies and the pillars of literacy beyond just phonics. It’s been a journey. Thank you @RocklandTeacher for this opportunity to teach and help others deepen their understanding

After a @gregtangmath workshop at @rocklandboces I started using snap cubes whenever I was having kids model their math. What a time saver!!! They are so easy to manipulate. Here we were working on division with remainder from Do The Math @mburnsmath

@Mr_Rablin Too often bad PD is a result of not knowing enough about how adults learn. Too often it’s a sit and get instead of a time to collaborate and grow.

Sometimes I'm just flabbergasted that we can bring together a group of professional learners who are, for the most part, super passionate about the topic at hand, and somehow make learning basically not happen. Bad PD is actually kind of mind-blowing when you think about it.
