Just got an email from a publisher of one of my books that they're planning to license to tech companies using scholarly books to "train" large language models for AI use. So in case you were wondering, scholarly writing will now also be outsourced to AI. Fuck this noise.

@themediawitch Yes, I am rooting for the company, they have a potentially good approach. In theory a pause for review is part of the overall vaccine safety and should inspire confidence. But in practice I don’t know if anyone is really convincible.

@lizziebelle That’s a relief. It was unlikely but it is too common and classic, I feared you could be a textbook example. I know too many ignored or missed heart attacks. I feared saying nothing and regretting it forever.
