That photo is one of my many favorite memories with my husband. It was taken the day I graduated from Liberty University with my Juris Master degree, while he received an honorary doctorate and spoke at my commencement ceremony. Thank you for honoring my Charlie. I didn't know that Charlie was interested in another woman for over a year before meeting Erika. Sadly for Charlie, that woman didn't return his feelings. Enter Erika, older, experienced, very much a modern woman who believed "sex sells". This is a situation that could easily have been exploited and in my opinion it seems it was. It appears Charlie's innocence was weaponized against him.

It doesn't matter. Candace shouldn't have brought it up, she knew what she was doing, and Elizabeth Lane exploited that clip and used it for promotion fully knowing what a stir it would cause on the internet because it's almost taboo to save yourself for marriage. It was just unnecessary to use that detail for attention, whether it's true or not

I have lived a bit of life and a man of Charlie's age as a virgin is rare. It's a wonderful thing but it does mean he was naive in that way because he never experienced it before. That's not an attack, its the opposite. I have great respect for how much value he place on giving himself to just his wife. I just know that kind of innocence can be exploited and with this kind of money and power, it makes it more likely. It's just a fact.

Candce Owens is one of the most honest and down-to-earth people I’ve ever had the chance to interview. Over the years, I’ve interviewed every type of person imaginable from nuns to politicians to actors and after you sit with someone for sometime, once the small talk fades, you get a real sense of who they are. Candace is an incredible mother with a beautiful, loving family. I also had the honor of meeting her genius husband, a genuinely great guy and honestly, way more straight-laced than I expected lol. I’m grateful I got a glimpse into their beautiful family life, but most importantly, we talked about some really interesting and important issues. I also gained a lot more respect for Charlie. He truly lived as a believer and honored the sanctity of marriage. I had no idea Charlie saved himself for marriage, I honestly think that’s absolutely adorable.
