🎉Announcing the Department's Exceptional Language Educator of the Month🎉 Ms. Marquita Torres at the Perry Career Academy is an exceptional language educator who goes above and beyond in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students and staff.

Congratulations to Kristina, an 8th grader @esaroyalknights, for earning 2nd place at the Georgia Chinese Language Educators’ Pen Calligraphy Competition on Sunday. Her poem entitled “Remembering Jiangnan” describes the advent of spring that she calls “a graceful time of year.”

Students from @northclaytonath shared a reading experience in French and Spanish with the littles language learners at West Clayton Elementary in CCPS. Great work!!

On March 22, CCPS World Languages celebrated the more than 200 students who competed at the competition this year. It was a wonderful year of language and art, music, poetry, drama! We had superb work from K-12 students in Arabic, Chinese, Latin, French and Spanish. Kudos!

Language learning is like planting seeds and important to remember the rewards of the growth--be inspired from this beautiful quote written by Tandika at Morrow High School.

On Friday, March 10th, World Languages students competed in the 2023 World Languages Contest. They could compete in Poetry, Music, Art, Drama, Extemporaneous Speaking and Reading or a Vocabulary Bee. We had a wonderful turn-out and a great time @MiddleMorrow.

On #InternationalWomansDay, think of someone who teaches us to #EmbraceEquity. Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Peace Prize winner and speaker of at least three languages, is a she-ro for girls and women around the globe because of her commitment to education of women.

CCPS World Languages educators and students truly enjoyed the @TheAtlantaOpera's dress rehearsal performance of Candide. What a fantastic evening of music, culture and language!

It's Women's History Month and CCPS World Languages pledges to #EmbraceEquity. Students and teachers have the opportunity to learn about some dynamic women who spoke languages other than English. See our calendar of women from yesterday, today and tomorrow!!

We wrap up the month of love by profiling Patrick, a junior @StilwellSOTAExp. He has loved learning Spanish since his days @DualUnidos. Patrick loves finding people to continue practicing his language skills with and looks forward to using them in his future career.

The French FLES students at Lake Ridge Elementary remind us all to walk in love or marche dans l’amour as a tribute to leaders in the Civil Rights Movement. Their voices lifted in song are so beautiful!

Students from Ms. Ramos-Davila's @MZHSsports celebrated their love of Afro-Latinx culture by sharing their beautiful art with the World Languages hallway.

The French club @ScholarsElite celebrated the language and culture of the many countries which speak French with a parade of nations, music, poetry, recitations and a fashion show. Félicitations on a job well done, Ms. Pierre and étudiants!

River's Edge Elementary hosted a New Year celebration today complete with a Lion Dance demonstration and a parade. Students and staff loved the performance from the Chien Hong school of Kung Fu and even got to try out the costumes themselves!

Two students @ScholarsElite recently had their Chinese poems published by Hao Zuo Wen (Good Compositions) in January. Congratulations to Ariel for her poem "Nightmares" and Nathaly for her poem "I Remember"! We love when students have authentic opportunities to share their work!
