@cbcwatcher Much of Quebec’s oil coming from the US originates in Alberta at a huge discount to the US. Alberta pays carbon tax so is this oil now taxed twice? Energy east makes so much sense.

Interesting exchange in the house between Blanchet and Carney. Blanchet doesn't like the accounting on the "tax credits" for clean energy Carney finishes with "The truth is that right now Quebec is using 350,000 barrels of oil a day, so carbon has to be captured for the production and transport of those barrels." Those are imported barrels of oil, mostly from the US, but it begs the question: does Carney expect Canadians to pay for the decarbonization of oil being imported from other countries now? An actual press might be bothered to ask Carney this and get a non babbled answer @MarkJCarney @yfblanchet

@kim_gaetz Carney never removed the carbon tax, he added the consumer tax to the industrial tax. Galen Weston is a huge Trudeau, Carney and liberal party supporter. Our GDP per capita is the highest in the G20. That is not Pierre’s doing.
