I dunno man, my enthusiasm for Fortnite has been rocked by the recent events. The v-bucks change, the removal of bot lobbies (my preferred way of completing quests), and then the layoffs and seeing so many great Epic employees I followed on here affected by it… I’m a daily player yet I haven’t played a single match of the new season and I haven’t bought anything in the item shop. I log in, then log out. They broke the illusion of it being a good time. I dunno if I can get it back.

@Wisdom_HQ I always found it weird that the T-800 speaks with an accent when you see in that scene that he can speak fluent English.

This scene is way colder than you remember.
Most people missed this.
In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, there’s only ONE scene where the T-800 and the T-1000 actually speak to each other.
No long conversations.
No dramatic showdown dialogue.
Just one cold, calculated exchange…
because machines don’t need words to understand each other.
That’s what made it terrifying.
But here’s what most people don’t know:
• The T-1000 wasn’t fully CGI…
but it was one of the first times CGI felt alive
• ~35 artists.
Months of work.
For just minutes on screen.
• Only about 5 minutes of CGI…
yet it changed cinema forever
• Frames that took days to render… for seconds you barely notice
This wasn’t just a movie.
It was a glimpse into the future…
before the future even existed.
And somehow, 30+ years later…
it still feels real.

They even shutdown emails a few hours after the layoff notice, people couldn't even change them on active services or products. Never use your company email for any portal, SaaS, game, etc, including Epic Games Store.

@BackersGamesF Epic is in contact with the family and will solve the insurance for them. There is high confidentiality around medical information and it was not a factor in this layoff decision. Sorry to everyone for not recognizing this terribly painful situation and handling it in advance.

For example people can get their own life insurance for like $25 a month for $1 million policy, $50 for $2 million policy. I pay for my employer life insurance, and I also pay for insurance outside of my employer.

More than Epic Games being unstable, which it is because of weak management, the main problem of that story is that your Life Insurance is related with your job. In Europe when you subscribe to life or health insurance it's you that pay for it, no employer can remove it from you.

I've been saying for a long time that Epic Games has been poorly managed. It has some of the best visual artists, developers and network architects, but management isn't up to that standard. Not only that but they sometimes actually operate in bad faith, favor dark patterns.
