@amaditalks @daiyami Why no heat while the power is on? When ours came back for 4 hours we were able to raise the temp inside by 12 degrees before it shut off again.

Finally heard from family in Houston. They’re all together at the one house with a fireplace. The power comes and goes, but even when it’s on there’s still no heat, so they’re trying to decide if/which furniture to burn. It’s 1821 in the fourth largest city in the US.

@Lovenatasia Grids are fine natural gas pipeline issues and frozen wind turbines.

@jls_mcdowell @ERCOT_ISO Well I’m in West U and have been without power since 2:25am so it isn’t all of West U and frankly I’m not happy with some of the empty businesses blazing with lights either.

Grid operator has restored power to 500,000 households, #ERCOT and Texas #electric companies working nonstop to restore power to those still waiting. ercot.com/news/releases/…

@resetreflectt It isn’t just Houston but the entire state and surrounding states. Heck even parts of Colorado have been told to conserve energy due to wind turbines being down.

blows my mind how the city of houston is always unprepared for things the rest of the country deals with on the reg. the whole "we'll worry about it when it happens" mentality is how we get stuck with power outages during light snow, and floods damn near any time it rains.

@CNPalerts @ERCOT_ISO “Controlled” outages? That was the first one but no power 77005 since 2:30 with same and something we in other parts of Houston metro area.

@CNPalerts Rolling blackouts my ass. Too many without power since 2:30am. Frozen wind turbines. Go back to gas and nuclear.

@rhowrish @CNPalerts @ERCOT_ISO We pulled the pump head and drained all the out of pool lines. Nothing we can do about the ones in ground.

@CNPalerts @ERCOT_ISO Are they rolling or are you just selecting neighborhoods to not have power? Pool equipment, which I think is pretty prevalent in the Houston area doesn’t like standing water in freezing temperatures. If the outages are controlled, please keep them rolling.
