This #TAT, for #DevelopmentalDisabilitiesAwarenessMonth - we are sharing programs reviewed by the CEBC and intended to treat & improve outcomes for children, caregivers, and families affected by developmental disabilities. Developmental disabilities occur among all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. Recent estimates in the United States show that about one in six, or about 17%, of children aged 3 through 17 years have one or more developmental disabilities, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, hearing loss, intellectual disability, learning disability, and other developmental delays. Treatment of disabilities can help an individual achieve independence, work towards their goals, and maintain a satisfying lifestyle.
