A fitness YouTuber who twice faked his own DEATH for views has reportedly drowned in Thailand. A day later, no one can officially confirm it's real.
Connor Murphy, 32, was an American bodybuilder from Texas who built one of the biggest fitness channels of the 2010s.
His 2016 "Fake Shirt Trick" video pulled over 63 MILLION views, and at his peak he had more than 2 MILLION subscribers, huge for his time.
It fell apart around 2020 when his content slid from pranks into psychedelics and spirituality, then into uploads disturbing enough that he was reportedly hospitalized for over two weeks.
In 2021 he posted two videos staging his own death.
On July 7, per Thai outlet ThaiRath, emergency services were called to a rented mansion after witnesses reported a foreign man behaving erratically in the street.
He reportedly ran into the property's lake, swam until exhausted, and went under in front of onlookers who couldn't reach him. Divers recovered a body 20 meters from shore.
Investigators found no signs of assault, but reported syringes in his car and unidentified pills in his bag.
Officials have confirmed nothing. No family, no representative, no government body has confirmed the death or even the identity of the man in the lake.
The autopsy is still pending. Even the people closest to him disagree on what happened.
A man spent years documenting his own unraveling, monetized it, and faked its ending twice on camera.
The real one, if that's what this is, arrives with pills in a bag and no one able to say for sure it's real.
He faked his death so convincingly twice, that when it may have finally happened for real, no one knows whether to believe it.
