@TCNetwork No he wasn’t the opposition leader, he was the leader of the British Union of Fascists. He was imprisoned because he was a fascist who had had links to Hitler before WW11. I am from the village where his family had their ancestral home where everyone is ashamed of him.

@hippocampophile This reply reminds me of a doctor who got very annoyed when the school secretary would not interrupt my lesson!

@ceebee6ax Same logic could be applied for literally any job or employment group- plumbers, carpenters, finance, lorry drivers. List goes on. What's the answer? Just an allocated slot like we do for DHL "we will see you between 0800-1200" you'll get seen between those hours?

@hippocampophile @charlottetr Supply teachers are very expensive most schools can’t afford to use them and you have to employ them for at least half a day. They cannot have a full understanding of the pupil’s individual needs, strengths and weaknesses so yes the teacher being absent always impacts learning.

@ceebee6ax @charlottetr So a patient has their initial cancer diagnosis given to them swiftly, without emotion and without time for questions, just so we can run to time so as not to inconvenience teachers?? Let's be honest, those pupils will have a substitute teacher so no lessons are actually lost

@charlottetr @hippocampophile Then do not accuse a teacher of being entitled for feeling frustrated that they missed a lesson for an appointment which was then was late. Teachers missing lessons has a financial implication for schools as well as lost learning for pupils.

@ceebee6ax @hippocampophile The problem is - “more flexibility” or longer appointments = fewer patients seen = longer waiting lists. Third option is more clinics (=recruitment/higher costs). Current balance lies at lower cost + shorter waiting list. Not within individual clinicians’ power to change.

@hippocampophile There needs to be more flexibility with appointments then. When a teacher isn’t there to teach a lesson it isn’t just an inconvenience it has a negative impact on pupils’ learning as well as puts stress on an already stretched organisation. Schools are underfunded too.

@ceebee6ax Yeah, I accept that logic I really do. Honestly as clinicians we don't purposefully run late, in fact I hate it.i recognize the inconvenience of it all, but it's just that, an inconvenience. People have no idea of some of the difficult conversations behind clinic doors

@Anna231A @MichaelRosenYes @IsabelOakeshott @reformparty_uk @BangorUni My mum went to Bangor University. She was the first person in her family to go to University. Miss Cook, from Holywell Grammar School (Miss Moffat in ‘How Green is my Valley) arranged her interview in school and persuaded her family to let her go. It changed her life.

@MichaelRosenYes @IsabelOakeshott @reformparty_uk @BangorUni I went to @BangorUni. Money to build it was raised in the 19thC by local working people who wanted their kids to have a uni education. That meant something to me, more than going to a Uni built by nobility to educate their kids. My dept was rated top in the UK for my subject.

"I want to go to Bangor University" said nobody ever. Especially if Bangor University is stripped of government funding and student loan facilities by @reformparty_uk Is that "in line with your values," poppets?

@IsabelOakeshott @reformparty_uk I think Reform should put your tweet on their election leaflets, I’m sure it will be a real vote winner in the Sennedd elections in May.

@GyllKing So sorry, but she may feel that she knows you. My mum died of dementia last year - for the last couple of years she often didn’t remember I was her daughter but she always seemed to think I was a familiar. She may recognise you tomorrow 🤞
