Upgraded Multipurpose Hall, Block Wall Signpost Commissioned at FUNAAB Zoo Park By Olaoye Oyewole & Tayo Onayemi The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Zoo Park has recorded a major infrastructural milestone with the commissioning of an upgraded Multipurpose Hall and the unveiling of its Block Wall Signpost, aimed at enhancing accessibility, functionality, and institutional visibility. Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, at the event, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, who also donated the signpost highlighted the importance of purposeful leadership in sustaining institutional growth. He noted that the Zoo Park, now over a decade old, has continued to evolve through dedication, resilience, and a result-driven leadership approach. He commended the Director of the Zoo Park for his commitment and visible impact, stressing that consistent improvements, including upgraded facilities, animal enclosures, and the museum, have significantly transformed the Zoo Park. He added that the newly unveiled signpost would improve access and visibility, addressing previous difficulties experienced by visitors in locating the facility. While commissioning the upgraded Multipurpose Hall, the Vice-Chancellor described the transformation as remarkable, noting that the facility has been repositioned into a versatile space suitable for a wide range of activities and events. He added that the development would enhance user experience, attract more visitors, and boost revenue generation for the University. He also assured the Zoo Management of continued support and advocacy for increased institutional resources. Addressing staff and students, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged a culture of innovation, responsibility, and collective commitment, emphasising that institutional progress depends on shared efforts. He further urged students to take advantage of the opportunities available within the Zoo Park, particularly in areas such as wildlife management and environmental science. Earlier, the Director of the Zoo Park, Prof Olufemi Sam-Wobo, expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their unwavering support. He acknowledged the challenges encountered during the project but noted that resilience, unity, and collective commitment ensured its successful completion. According to him, the project reflects a shared vision sustained by encouragement and collaboration, which also strengthened teamwork among all involved. #SDG16
