Real question: can you even override a game loss decided by judges? Because if the answer is no, why are we blaming players for a system they don't control? Also - people keep saying "competitive integrity" means playing the turn out to the very last prize card. But let’s be real, this 100% wouldn’t have been an issue at a table in the back of the room. A player pops off for five seconds on stream, then goes back and finishes the interaction. Game over. The only reason this became a "violation" is because TPCI treats their stream like a sanitized TV show. They want the hype of the big draw, but they punish the human reaction that comes with it. TPCI needs to decide if the stream is for celebrating the game or for enforcing corporate optics at the cost of the actual result. This is why Pokémon TCG will never be a true e-sport.

@lsv Only real disadvatange is drawing cards becomes even more broken than in 1 resource per turn games so its very restrictive, and drawing cards is very fun

@lsv The game becomes incredibly interactive, because if you want to f.ex double/triple spell it usually means you dont hold up interaction so going for power plays leaves yourself open. Almost every game you lose you think if I had played x Turn different i could have won.

@LorenzoPTCG @RexTyhogi @KitoriJP Topsy and Censer are both incredibly strong against the deck, the deck cannot remove lantern. Early baby green/varucken are super punishing Boots + cats are kinda degenerate and probably have to go at some point, but seiryuu chokes the meta more and got a big buff unlike diana

@RexTyhogi @KitoriJP Having to constantly hold 7 cards to play SoF through a negate while being beat down by allies that your opponent is going +1 or neutral on feels like negative play patterns to me. Not to mention the random carpsong codas thrown in the mix.

Suprised they weren't more heavy handed with obvious problem cards. I wish we had explanations on why they decided not to move specific cards around so the community could understand their philosophy more.

@bushi_internkun I hope you understand that a card that reads: impossible to interact with and i nuke board and also i snowball value will create issues sooner or later (set 3 release hello? You did not address this at all). You could give eminence a Anti-OVL PR, that would also help.

@bushi_internkun I think its fine to try and cook different restriction lists (bd f.ex would be a good one to try this since the jp list barely changes the deck) But OVL has been a painpoint for so long and is repeatedly treated with kiddy gloves while ATLA gets orbital nuked with no playrate.

Answering all OVL-related questions here! Firstly, y’all hate when we used to copy Japan’s list and now y’all hate when we’re cooking 😭 If it’s wrong then we’ll fix it, but at least we’re trying something new…? (1/x)

@bushi_internkun @JuezWill If you want to specifically beat OVL you cannot play anything to do that, since Ainz disables all potential counterplay. The deck also gains a ton of extra consistency with set3 that was never legal in jp at the same time. Just keep the maid banned at least, unbanning it is ???

@bushi_internkun @JuezWill Its not really about being a primarily ovl meta (the deck never had exceptionally high play rate) The deck existing in its current form means a lot of deckarchetypes (and even entire sets like rwby) are not allowed to exist because of autolosses.

@weissschwarz_en How in gods name do you buff OVL Meanwhile aobuta, csm and sds had like 2 months they were playable, but people have to deal with OVL for multiple years. And then you say you restrict it and actually buff it??????

@fusouu I remember now it was mark guan If he did most of them in vanguard you might be the first person with 3 ws invites though, i think everybody else had 2 max (or 2 + 1 sve or any combination if games)

@fusouu I forgot his name but somebody from Australia got 7 invites in 2022. Back then you also got entry stuff for each time you qualified so he ran around with 7 playmats. People dont really go for multi invites anymore since then because they stopped giving out multiple promos
