These are the solar panels at my house. We use them mainly to heat water, but also for other electrical purposes. Even though they are costly at first, they save money in the long run and are great for the environment! @vahsapes #apesenergy

Turning down your thermostat when yoyrnjot home in the winter and making sure your lights are off when not in a room can conserve tons of energy in your home and show when you get that bill at the end of the month @vahsapes #apesenergy

Most of the lamps and light fixtures in our home have energy efficient light bulbs. These use much less energy than regular light bulbs so it's a great way to preserve energy and reduce the cost of bills in your home! #apesenergy @vahsapes

Turn off your sinks when brushing your teeth or washing your face. It might not seem like a lot of water at the time but it adds up! This is a way to save water simply and effectively! #apeshydro @vahsapes

I never thought about it in that sense. So much paper is wasted everyday by students. Recycling is key!!!

Waste that we produce at home is called municipal solid waste, mostly made up of paper, food, and other materials. Limit amounts of waste by recycling! Paper, glass, and plastic can all be recycled. Consider getting a recycling bin in your home! #apeswaste @vahsapes

soil is so important, and most don't realize it even though whenever we walk on the ground, we are most likely walking on soil! Plants like grass and trees need it to grow and survive because it has essential nutrients in it. @vahsapes #apessoil

Pesticides are bad for the environment and can runoff into nearby water beds causing pollution as well as health issues to organisms. Gardens like these are beautiful even without pesticides! #apespest @vahsapes

This image shows insects infesting and ruining a corn stalk in a crop. Because of things like this, farmers tend to navigate towards pesticides and other chemicals but they can lead to danger in the environment and can be unhealthy for humans too #apespest @vahsapes

We can use the triangular soil chart to identify different types of soil based on the percentages of sand, loam, and clay. Just follow the lines that correlate to the numbers. It's easy to use and fun! #apessoil @vahsapes

@AA17apes @vahsapes It is so sad that our own pond cannot even have organisms due to such high levels of contamination... I think we should make an effort to restore the pond to its natural beauty!
