I’ve been through some real personal struggles recently that I haven’t spoken about… But I feel like I can now. Me and my fiancé were supposed to get married next month. But after a really difficult few months in our relationship, we decided to postpone the wedding. It was one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made - but we knew it was the right one (for now). Before parenthood, we had the perfect relationship. No arguments, just complete love and happiness. That’s why we decided to get married and have a baby. Our baby is the biggest blessing in our lives. But becoming parents is incredibly challenging. I now understand how common it is for couples to struggle in those early months. I’ve learned a lot about myself - and how I can be a better father and partner. I used to think that being a good father was all about being a provider and being a good role model. Which is true, but it’s not everything. What my partner really needed was me. She needed me present - helping more around house, with our son, and taking pressure off her shoulders. Caring for a newborn is really tough. It consumes your life. Especially with sleep deprivation & hormonal changes. She was still doing all of the housework and had no space or time for herself. It led to mental exhaustion. I was too focused on fitness and business - but I needed to be more focused on my fiancé and son. Caring for him. Playing with him. Supporting his development. Loving him. I realise that being a good father and partner is it’s actually a lot more than just being in shape, feeling energetic and providing financially You need to be present. You need to help your family out when they need it. You need to do things that you have not done before and you need to adapt. So if you’re reading this after going through struggles of your own, hang in there, prioritise your family above all else, and things will get better I’m proud to say things feel good again in our relationship. And I finally feel like the dad and partner my son and fiancé need. It’s the best feeling in the world.

Academics are paid nothing for peer review. Yet journals made a total of over $8.3 billion on article processing charges alone between 2019-2023. Make it make sense.

Canadian Cancer Society
Canadian Cancer Society@cancersociety·
During Joe Rogan’s podcast on January 9, Mel Gibson promoted drugs that are not scientifically proven cancer treatments. Misinformation on cancer treatment is dangerous, cruel, irresponsible and gives false hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Researchers around the world dedicate their lives to uncovering the best cancer treatments. Surgery, radiation and approved cancer drugs like chemotherapy are safe and proven to stop cancer cells from growing and spreading. Choosing to use an alternative therapy can have serious health effects, such as the cancer spreading or getting worse. The Canadian Cancer Society provides credible, independent, trusted information on cancer treatments, in easy-to-understand language. You can find this at cancer.ca or and we are also available on chat or by calling 1-888-939-3333.
