Lots of 'talking about pictures' (thanks, Doug Harper!) at the Visually Mediated Research course we ran last week for @DtpNine - thanks to all the participants for your ideas and insights. Hope your doctoral research continues to go well!

Funded by the DfE, CfLaT's Pam Woolner worked with @OpenLab_Ncl to develop digital tech ways to collect school students' views. They trialled an online questionnaire, PosterVote (pictured) and QR codes to start conversations about places around the schools.

Gabriela Heck, our 2023 CfLaT research visitor from Brazil, worked with the Great North Museum on inclusion, museum space and science capital. The research she completed at GNM has just been published in conference proceedings : iconline.ipleiria.pt/bitstream/1040… (page 21-28).

CfLaT's Pam W has been in Belgium for an art and architecture exhibition of school space, taking part in the connected symposium addressing classrooms. Are they obsolete or strangely enduring (or perhaps both..?)?

Day 2 of #100DaysOfEdD Started looking more at the links between inquiry based learning and 21st century skills. Led me back to thinking about Dewey and how so much of what I am looking at links back to much early writings!

Our @WestEndSchools council discussed how small acts of kindness can spread peace in our community. The pupils collectively decided to follow the idea of @HelpPicture and make a peace chain. We look forward to sharing this initiative across our community.
