Was würde da eigentlich abgehen, sollten die Dresdner dann absteigen?

@BoozerArab Living in Cologne I approve this message.

Very unpopular opinion, but Koln drinking culture of getting served non stop little baby beers is a million times better than Bavarian steins that taste like piss by the time you’re on your last few gulps.

This is how beer is meant to be. €10.80 for a litre in Munich 🇩🇪

@RealPostFolder At the same time that doesn't make HIV harmless. Especially when you stop taking your meds for whatever reasons health problems can come swiftly and might not go away once you resume taking them.
English

@RealPostFolder Two things can be true. HIV/aids to this day is linked to severe stigma and especially for the newly infected, it is extremely important that with modern therapies they can live a pretty normal life as opposed to having received a death sentence.
English

>My wife's aunt died from a tainted blood donation in the late 80s.
>Her newborn daughter was also infected. While her mom died, she has been on very powerful meds since she was a baby and is still alive at 40.
>However when she became pregnant herself for the third time, she stopped taking one of the medications as it was causing a severe reaction.
>Somehow this caused her to first lose colour vision and now to go nearly completely blind.
>Just from not taking the meds.
>Thankfully her kids are all healthy and uninfected but people really shouldn't be downplaying HIV too much.
>It's no longer a death sentence but it is a life sentence.
>Watch the movie The Normal Heart on HBO, about the beginning of the AlDs epidemic.
>That movie has stuck with me so viscerally for so many years now.

@BergheimJeff @OxytocinTussi Er hatte zuletzt seinen Firmensitz in Heerlen. Ich bin da mal hingefahren als ich sowieso für eine Recherche da war. Man kann zu Fuß bis zur deutschen Grenze.
Duesberg hat's dieses Jahr übrigens auch erwischt
Deutsch

@OxytocinTussi Sehr spät in diesem Fall.

@PM_ViktorOrban @ZelenskyyUa Hey, everybody. Let's listen to the guy whose leadership turned Hungary to the poorest EU country in household welfare!
English

Yesterday in Davos, President @ZelenskyyUa crossed a line.
There is nothing new in the fact that, as elections approach in Hungary, he once again placed the Hungarian government, and me personally, in his sights. What was surprising, however, was that in his speech he also criticised every other European leader. He says the support sent to Ukraine is insufficient, the weapons are insufficient, and Europe’s determination is insufficient.
We did not have to wait long for the response from Brussels. Last night, @vonderleyen presented a roadmap for Ukraine’s development. In it, the Brusselians accepted every Ukrainian demand. $800 billion for Ukraine, accelerated EU accession by 2027, and further support all the way until 2040.
This is where things stand. President Zelenskyy has things all backwards, yet the Brusselians are eager to pay up.
We will have a few words to say about this as well. A national petition is coming, through which we can send a clear message to Brussels: we will not pay!

Both of the people in this photo are 💀DEAD💀.
The cost of Misinformation.
Christine Maggiore was an AIDS denialist that claimed alternative "natural therapies" could cure AIDS.
Both her and her daughter were HIV positive.
Her daughter, Eliza Jane, died from AIDS at 3 years old (Maggiore refused to have her daughter— whom she gave HIV because she refused medication during pregnancy—take AIDS meds).
Maggiore died of AIDS 5 years later at the age of 52.
Misinformation has permanent and deadly consequences...

English

@longcovidpnw @broadwaybabyto That's true - although its influence has been comparatively small since 2008/9.
English

At one point in the 90s, approximately 1 in 4 people with HIV were AIDS denialists
They believed HIV didn’t cause AIDS
They refused the drugs.
You don’t hear about them much anymore because they all died.
RFK Jr peddled the narrative back then & he’s still peddling it today.
Neil Stone@DrNeilStone
AZT was a massive breakthrough in the treatment of HIV which at that time was a death sentence AZT based therapy went on to save millions of lives RFK Jr rewriting history here

@nexta_tv I spoke to one of the scientists last week (I'm a science writer from Cologne: there are other antibodies that also work but usually HIV develops resistances quite quickly. But since 04A06 connects to the CD-4 receptor which is vital for HIV, there were none after 100 days.
English

🧬 Major breakthrough in HIV research: German scientists discover antibody that blocks 98% of HIV strains
A team in Cologne may have just changed the future of the fight against AIDS. Researchers identified a rare antibody, 04A06, that neutralized 98% of HIV variants in lab tests and prevented the virus from entering human cells.
Scientists analyzed blood from 32 HIV-positive individuals whose immune systems naturally mounted an unusually strong defense. Out of more than 800 antibodies, this one stood out. They decoded its structure and successfully reproduced it in the lab.
This isn’t a cure yet. Clinicians stress that more research and trials are needed before celebrating. But the potential is enormous: 04A06 could become the basis for passive immunization, offering immediate — though temporary — protection against HIV.
After decades without an effective vaccine, and with drugs like lenacapavir offering hope but not a solution, this antibody might be the turning point the world has waited for.
