Everything we know about leadership, Republicans threw away.
Everything we know about character, Republican Christians threw in the garbage.
They grievously hurt this nation. They grievously hurt their neighbors.

I'm deeply grateful that scripture isn't a collection of sanitized stories of holy people. It's rather a collection of stories of ordinary, broken people loved by God, and made holy through a righteousness outside of themselves.
The bible doesn't end with souls ascending to a disembodied heaven. It ends with a fully embodied heaven descending to earth.
The resurrection is the good news that God in Christ is committed to the renewal, reconciliation and resurrection of all things.
Summary of the Lord's Prayer:
Our Father - Intimacy
Hallowed be your name - Holiness
Kingdom/Will be done on earth - Justice
Daily Bread - Provision
Forgive us as we forgive - Grace
Lead us not into temptation - Weakness
Deliver us from evil- Warfare
Thine is the kingdom- Hope
We can read the Bible every day and still have our hearts firmly against the ways of the kingdom of God.
Unless we read scripture through the lens of the crucified Christ, our exegesis is dangerously subject to personal preferences and political allegiances.
Maybe God’s understanding of faith is different than ours?
When we think of having unwavering faith, we make no room for doubt, for mistakes, for anxiety.
But perhaps unwavering faith is a paradox. Maybe it means we keep coming back to the God who doesn’t waver.

A good portion of the Evangelical world is silent on things that God is vociferous about in scripture (justice, welcoming the stranger, the poor, idolatry, etc).
The mission field is just as much in our churches as it is in unreached areas throughout the world.
