Jesus had no patience with “good people” who weren’t good to people.

Greetings fellow sane-thinkers, it is I, Sam Eagle. In an effort to combat the more "out there" elements on this social media account, I will be holding a question and answer session. So please, ask me anything – anything NORMAL, that is.

The toughest men I have known have also been the gentlest. (This is not a coincidence.) A byproduct of real strength is walking softly in one's world. As a rule: the louder the stomps, the smaller the man.

Christians in North Korea are routinely sent to concentration camps, where they are starved, overworked and tortured. Christian and secular analysts estimate about 30,000 Christians are currently suffering in various camps throughout North Korea. Pray for these brothers & sisters

When an employee who was not married told Ramsey Solutions she was pregnant, the company fired her for having premarital sex in violation of its moral code. When a leader had an affair, those rules were not enforced. religionnews.com/2021/01/15/dav…

At the end of the day, this is true: Everything we know about leadership, Republicans threw away. Everything we know about character, Republican Christians threw in the garbage. They grievously hurt this nation. They grievously hurt their neighbors. May God have mercy.

I'm deeply grateful that scripture isn't a collection of sanitized stories of holy people. It's rather a collection of stories of ordinary, broken people loved by God, and made holy through a righteousness outside of themselves.

The bible doesn't end with souls ascending to a disembodied heaven. It ends with a fully embodied heaven descending to earth. The resurrection is the good news that God in Christ is committed to the renewal, reconciliation and resurrection of all things.

We can read the Bible every day and still have our hearts firmly against the ways of the kingdom of God. Unless we read scripture through the lens of the crucified Christ, our exegesis is dangerously subject to personal preferences and political allegiances.

Maybe God’s understanding of faith is different than ours? When we think of having unwavering faith, we make no room for doubt, for mistakes, for anxiety. But perhaps unwavering faith is a paradox. Maybe it means we keep coming back to the God who doesn’t waver.

When evaluating the Mueller report, there are important questions beyond the existence of a conspiracy. A free people should ask what kind of man they want at the helm of the world's greatest nation. It should not be this man: nationalreview.com/corner/the-mue…

A good portion of the Evangelical world is silent on things that God is vociferous about in scripture (justice, welcoming the stranger, the poor, idolatry, etc). The mission field is just as much in our churches as it is in unreached areas throughout the world.
