CFB has always been about just having the best regular season record regardless of schedule to get the invite to the playoff. That doesn't make the regular season great - if anything it made it worse

That’s because an expanded playoff along with “legal” NIL has exposed their league as fraudulent. They can’t hide behind subjective metrics to keep other teams out. Now they have to win it on the field. It’s also funny to watch the narrative shift to the “gauntlet” of a regular season as to why no natties in 3 years.

One trend I am noticing...the SAME people who never wanted a 4 team playoff are the SAME people who didn't want a 12 team playoff. And now those SAME people are pounding the table against expansion. Even tho the 12 team playoff has been a MASSIVE success they don't admit it!!!

Stopped in Alpine, TX, for a smoke break. The home of Sul Ross State, whose most famous alumnus is the fictional boy from “Boyhood.” Had a remarkably good flat iron steak for dinner, took some mushrooms, now off to be either slightly annoying or silent in the lounge. I love this.

First stop: Benson, Arizona. The Amtrak “station” (a concrete pad) is conveniently right in front of the recently reopened Pages Palace, a very nicely renovated longtime western-style bar, went in December and it’s definitely worth a stop on your way to Tombstone and Bisbee.
