the more I think about things like the Wagah-Attari border ceremonies, India v Pakistan cricket matches, and how we still disparage intermarriage between countries, the more we look like fucking clowns. All this forced colonial adversity, for what? We aren’t each other’s enemy.

Today marks 75 years since the partition of India — a direct result of 200 years of British "divide and rule" colonization. Up to 18 million people were displaced, with widespread killings, sexual violence and looting. An estimated 2 million people were killed. 🧵
